Bottle of Wine before Event
Decided to share a bottle at ABBEY before I head to Ormond. Picked out a bottle of 2004 Red Mud Cab from Australia. Pleasantly surprised. This one came out very concentrated with very little tannin. All of us dug it.We also busted out a few bottles from the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp winners, including a California Common, a Weizenbock, and a double IPA. California Common went over pretty well. More to come.
Lazy Magnolia Event at River Grill in Ormond
Tonight is the night!! The Renegades will be pouring Lazy Magnolia's southern inspired beers at River Grill from 6pm-8pm. Along with a riverside location and delicious seafood, you can also enjoy a Southern Pecan Ale with your meal. Pics and News to come after the event, but if you can make it down, the event will be a blast!

Sitting at ABBEY having an Apricot Mojo and reading up on some stuff. Found this great article - taking advantage of the current cupcake craze and the craft beer phenomena. Why not? Two great tastes that taste great together. Check out this link:

By the way, one of my buddies bought an Avery 14 last night (which is now over 2 years old) and we shared it. I really liked this beer when it was fresh, but I LOVED it now. The flavors just kept going and going.
We just had a guy come in, use the bathroom, and leave. Pisses me off. Even when I am travelling, if I have to stop in at a 7-11 to take a leak, I'll buy something. Maybe it comes from being in the business my whole life, I dunno know.

Trip to Tampa
Spent the weekend in Tampa at the Hoptomic Beer Festival. Had an amazing time and had some killer brews including Boulder's own Barrel Aged Apricot Infused Mojo and Hoopla Pale Ale. Several casks from great breweries including St. Somewhere, Terrapin, and a Randall 90.
The highlight of the trip however was meeting Ernie, the owner of Ella's American Folk Art Cafe. This is my new favorite restaurant and Ernie is a complete badass. Walking into the restaurant, you are taken to a rockabilly haven made complete with some of the best southern-inspired food I've ever eaten. I sat at the bar and was waited on by a great bartender and watched the food fly out of the kitchen into a packed dining room. Still, the service was incredibly cool and Ernie stopped by to visit.
I had the Fried Catfish with Fried Pickles and Collard Greens. F-in awesome all the way around AND it included a deviled egg that was amazing. I also watched an insane amount of food come out of the kitchen that all looked and smelled incredible. They also have a great craft beer lineup including Cigar City and Lost Coast. Wasn't able to drink because I was driving home, but could've done an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. Check them out at www.ellasfolkartcafe.com.
Am looking forward to going back.
